I SAW MY SHADOW
On the kitchen wall
Wait… something
Looks
Odd.
It’s a
Left
shoulder slump
Others
mentioned it.
My drill team
Coach
Random
Shopper
Where I
Cashiered.
My left
Hand was tied down
By a conserned
Grams
To force me to
Use the “right “
side.
But that wouldn’t
Deform me
I had lung infections
As an infant
Perhaps
It’s the result
Of unfinished
Soul
shadow work.
Is this
Physical evidence
Of neglected living
Or too much
Giving
Is it possible
At 73
To change the
Shape of
Me
I
Believe
I can
Starting
Today
I will be
Conscious
Stretching unused
muscles
in my
body
mind
and
spirit.
I will
Post a
Message
To the future
Me
Look
At my shadow
“What do
I see?”
Are my
Shoulders
Straight?

Adrift
I am floating.
Adrift
Once I paddled
With a flurry
Now I
Ride in the flow
Always alert
Set to adjust.
catch a breeze.
Ascent my sails
Leisurely ease.
Point my bow to
where I please.
Adrift no more.

Prompt: Candy
Do you like candy? Is there any difference between the candies that you like in hot weather and cold weather? Write about your favorite candies and any memories attached to them.

I do like CANDY! Every day of the year, works for this one. Hot days can get messy but I’m washable.
My favorites are those expensive chocolates, individually wrapped. I love the sound of that crinkle just before the aroma escapes the packaging. It’s exciting and my mouth is watering. I like to savor that flavorful essence, at least momentarily before I offer the sacrificial tidbit through my lips to my awaiting tongue. It melts too quickly for my taste. Soon, it’s a memory. I lust, wanting more. When I am strong, and that’s often, I push the desire for more back. I can be resistant at times. It’s not always easy but, I have been known to think of other things when the chocolates are in the house.

Day 3650 November 01, 2024
Prompt- When you sit down to blog, do you outline what you're going to write or do you just free write and let your thoughts take you where ever?

I am a free spirit.
I go
where I go.
Sometimes,
the wind
takes me
to where
the
energy’s
low.
Then,
at the
last moment,
if creativity
won’t grow,
or perhaps
it is
flowing,
but, ever so
slow.
That’s the
moment
I follow
a plan.
It doesn’t
Really matter
Because
I am
what
I am
a free spirited
writer.
That’s me,
in a can.
