Andre's Stone Ball Challenge ** Image ID #2218952 Unavailable ** Hundreds of these large stone spheres are scattered across the Costa Rican jungle and are thought to have been constructed by prehistoric humans. For years, they have baffled scientists and archaeologists as to why they are there and how they were built. The spheres range up to 2.4 meters (8 ft) in diameter and are almost perfectly round. 5 DAY Andre the Blog Monkey's April Fools Mystery Writing Challenge Blog Prompt for Day 4 - Andre the Blog Monkey helped me out with today's prompt. Andre sometimes drinks vodka to a point where he talks of stone ball drinking parties in the jungles of Costa Rica. I looked it up and it's a legit thing. I asked> Andre about the stone balls but he doesn't remember much about anything. Andre will name a drink in the bar after the blogger who writes the best explanation of ... The Mystery of the Stone Balls of Costa Rica Dragon Eggs The Stone Balls of Costa Rica are fossilized dragon eggs. When dragons inhabited Earth, in the distant past, they migrated to Costa Rica and the ocean around it to mate and lay their eggs. After the eggs were laid, two or three of t he golden females would remain to take care of the eggs. In order for the eggs to properly hatch, they had to be turned once a day. Sometimes one of the females would miss turning an egg, which caused the egg to fossilize and not hatch. We hope the eggs are all fossilized. There is a rumor or a myth that every millennia or so, one of the eggs hatches and releases either a bronze male or a gold female dragon. Any egg an unmated female lays is infertile and therefore will fossilizes. Fortunately, at least for the human race, dragons only live a few hundred years. This means that the bronze or the gold dragon will die before it can mate with another dragon. Any dragons seen by humans are chalked up to either UFOs or someone being drunk. The biggest danger is two eggs hatching about the same time and releasing a gold female and a bronze male. |
