Optional Bonus Mystery Prompt In the spirit of saving the best for last, let's explore life's greatest mystery - What awaits us in the after-life? My spiritual being believes in eternal life, but scientifically speaking I struggle with the concept. "And now concerning thy question regarding the soul of man and its survival after death. Know thou of a truth that the soul, after its separation from the body, will continue to progress until it attaineth the presence of God, in a state and condition which neither the revolution of ages and centuries, nor the changes and chances of this world, can alter. It will endure as long as the Kingdom of God, His sovereignty, His dominion and power will endure. It will manifest the signs of God and His attributes, and will reveal His loving kindness and bounty. The movement of My Pen is stilled when it attempteth to befittingly describe the loftiness and glory of so exalted a station...." No one can know for sure precisely what awaits the soul after its separation from the physical body. On the material plane, the soul is in partnership with the physical body. This can be likened to the child in its mother's womb where it acquires the physical attributes it needs to survive on the material/physical plane. While the soul is in partnership with the physical body, it acquires the spiritual attributes it will need to prosper and thrive in the spiritual world. Once the soul is separated from the physical body it is clothed in the spiritual attributes it acquired and practiced on the material plane. At the point of physical death, the soul ascends into the spiritual world and moves through the spiritual world toward the Creator. What the spiritual world, which some call heaven, looks like is unknown. Each of the Manifestations of God have given hints of its appearance, but none of them--not even Baha'u'llah (the latest Divine Manifestation)--have given concrete descriptions of it. I believe that after death my soul will ascend into the Abha Paradise{footnote:#}The Bahai name for heaven./footnote}, and continue its movement toward God. Footnotes |

Staying at Home: Wall Talk These walls are made for talkin’! The popcorn’s poppin’ and we’re all rubbing our hands together in anticipation of what we’re about to read. We’re ready for the whole story, no matter how funny! Are ya ready, walls? Start talkin! Apartment walls are paper thin and let all the outside noises in. They speak to those who listen with anticipation to the memories concealed beneath layers of off-white paint. Walls cannot keep secrets, they hear with invisible ears, they speak with invisible mouths, they whisper about the fears of their present and their past inhabitants.. Walls air everyone's dirty laundry, they intone the wishes and hopes of the neighborhood. |
