Most entries are going to be E rated but some may go beyond that.

You just want to read? These entries will be freshly written for a contest. Since I plan on joining many then I'm putting them all in a book. Sit back and enjoy it. I'll try to do a (poem) line count, (story) word count, prompt, and which contest I entered in. Though I won't be mentioning it in the piece, but "The Contest ChallengeOpen in new Window. will be a part of a contest I enter since it's about entering into a contest following its rules. Wish me luck!

I leaned over the water. Just one motorboat out there in the lake with nobody in it? Something was off. Very off. I heard rumors, but those are just that- rumors. One mile away is the ocean. I wanted to investigate this matter before the police took over, possibly the military. Usually all the dinosaurs are docile. No wild ones left. They went extinct in the wild. So why would there be a disappearance now? I went back to the truck and backed it into the water with a motor boat. Then I tied the motorboat and drove my truck out without the boat.

Heart pounding, I thought I captured some bubbles rising to the surface of the lake. Was there a trapped monster at the bottom of the lake? I hoped not. I got into my boat and rode it out to the center armed with just a hunting knife. Looking again, I saw the boat disappeared. I swore it was there a minute ago. I turned the motor off and then looked around. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary.

I thought I captured a head poking out of the water when suddenly the boat lurched. The next thing I knew a tidal wave came right at me, knocking me off the boat into the water below. My sturdy grip on my hunting knife came to be the only thing I had as I sank further down. Then I saw it clearly. Small head compared to an enormous neck and body. I couldn't see the tail. Its flippers were tangled in nets and the eyes were red. About the size of a juvenile. A desperate Plesiosaurus entered my mind. I felt pity for it.

I swam back up to the surface to gasp for air. I had one mission in mind. Befriend this unusually aggressive dinosaur. Then a head poked out of the water. It ripped my boat in half. I swam closer. Surely it was going to rip me to shreds, but I had to try. Then I reached out my hand and closed my eyes. This young one needed help.

"Let me help you," I said gently and felt the gentle touch of its head.

Immediately I had a sense it was free in the ocean before boats surrounded it with nets. Then the men tried to take it away far from the ocean. It cried out for its mom and dad but it couldn't hear them. I felt a longing to be back in the ocean and a hatred for vehicles and boats with a passion. Then I returned to my normal self.

"First off I need to cut off your nets," I said.
