Now many of Disney's messages are clearly not friendly to the gospel of Jesus, but one movie in the midst of its feel goodism, pantheism, and typical platitudes did offer one for those seeking to portray Christ. What was that biblical advice? Quite simply Acuna Matata- In talking to those who are following Christ Scripture simply says don't be anxious about anything but in prayer and petition present your request to God (Philippians 4:5-7).

Obviously this is not the same as running away from responsibility, but if applied appropriately this is how we should appproach the cares of the world because of the supremacy of God.

Best biblical personal examples possibly supporting eternal security

1. The life of king Saul anointed as king who was rejected from his post and died because of sin and according to some accounts took his own life but was told he would be with Samuel in paradise.
2. Peter- Outright denied the Lord but was restored (He however was more of a rejection than a falling away) He exemples perhaps fits better many later church members who denied their Lord during persecution but if they were true their sin could have been forgiven but the penalty remains
3. David- the previous leads into this David’s bout with Bethsheba was surely a slide into sin and a very dangerous place as David himself recognized.

Personal examples against eternal security
1. The life of Balaam the prophet who dabbled in sorcery. We know he was a true prophet because the scripture tells us such but we also know of his wickedness as we are told that as well
2. The Life of Judas Iscariot- many might argue Judas was always a bad egg for he would be described later in ministry as a thief but there is no proof, he started out this way.
3. Fall of Satan – While Satan is not human like Adam he started without sin and ohough chosen before the world as a Herald of the mighty God became his chief opponent
4. The fall of King Solomon- We know God had promised not to remove him as king and we are not told of his eternal destination, but we do know he fell from his close relationship with God.

Based on these examples security is arguable but far from as ironclad as many Christians would deem. It makes sense that examples of redemption are greater than destruction because God is not willing that any should perish and either side would agree the main thrust of scripture is our hope in Jesus Christ.

Since God is the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) that we can look at Old Testament characters without the distinction of saying they lived before Christ as Christ was the propitiation before the beginning of the World.

The life of Saul and the life of Ballam two examples from two possible sides of an argument. Now of course there are different types and times of covenant and promise but that aside what can we see from these two men. Taking Saul first (1 Samuel 28)

1. The lord had taken away the kingship
2. The Lord would not answer Saul's inquiries
3. Saul Sought to reach the Lord any way, even the forbidden that he could.

In this we see a very twisted man who would die for his sins but whom Samuel still said would be with him in Paradise.
If this was a waiting place for saints, then we could assume someday we will see king Saul in heaven. Is this indeed an example of predestined security.

Now what about Ballam (Numbers 22-25)?

1. Balaam was a prophet the fact that God spoke to him often can't be denied
2. Balaam resorted often to sorcery and was hired to curse Israel
3.Balaam is later described as one who loved the wages of wickedness

Now in God's dealings and specifically the Law we see that God is a God of purity and that one can't go on being divided some might argue that the prophet never knew God however he is called a prophet and not a prophet of some False God. Could he be an example of one who knew the truth but was enticed away thus showing that man can lose genuine relationship with God when he puts other things first.

While any Christian will acknowledge the need to repent and admit that there are false believers, they are often split on eternal security. Ironically the typically very fair minded and biblically sound men attack this fear on human arguments and not the totality of scripture. The main thrusts of both sides are spelled out below.

Types of argument for eternal security
1. Salvation is a free gift and can't be taken away becaus the one who is in us is greater than all

2. God does not have us walking in a spirit of fear and if we know Him we are called to walk boldly before Him repenting and denying our flesh.

3.God will not lose those he has predestined and or have been adopted as sons

Types of arguments against eternal security

1. The writings of Paul and Peter and references to the great apostacy and falling away

2. The covenants God made with individuals and nations old and New Testament

3.Jesus own warnings such as the grafted branches and elsewhere (this also spills over into the question of the unpardonable sin)

4. God's relationship with angels and the fall of Satan

Ones understanding of eternal security should not cause Christians to be generally more judgmental or more fearful than other servants of the Lord. If someone has a true repentant heart that is a gift from God, and we should not stand in the way. Nevertheless, such belief does see a sin that leads to death that we should not necessarily pray for though we are called to intercede for our brothers (1 John 5:15-17). Perhaps it is better to not know the point of such sin so that we valiantly fight for all souls lest God’s spirit directly forbids it.

Ones understanding of eternal security affects

1. How one reads the Bible
2. How one understands the character of God
3. How one understands predestination
4. How we understand free will
5. How one understands various covenants

In short for those who believe in the unpardonable sin, which is not suicide as demonstrated by Saul though this is a very grievous sin, and in falling away disagree vehemently with many well-established assumptions. However, to call such people Arminian is to show a lack of understanding of the historical man and this ideal which may or may not demonstrate one as a follower of his teachings.

One’s belief one way or another should in no way be a core doctrine of any church as it does not in itself affect the tenets of salvation. However, one's belief in either direction does or should have profound effects on how one sees

Ephesians 6:11-13
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Christians are primarily concerned about representing Christ in the world and this is most clear cut in the ministry, though even here great wisdom is needed when interacting with varying cultures and people. The more prevalent questions of living out faith in our Lord Jesus Christ occur in the world for everyone from politicians to farmers. We fight in the case of immorality by fleeing it and weare also told to resist the devil, but what does this mean?

Our lives must be of deliberate choices. Choices running the gambit of putting our kids in a school system steeped in evil philosophy to questions of government and holiday celebration. If rich would I invest in such companies as Disney in order to maybe influence its core or would I stay away from such as a corrupted entity? Would I vote for the lesser of two evils or would I only vote for the individuals I knew were on my side. Other questions for the more oppressed include do they rebel, realizing that authority comes from God and has no right when it itself is mired in rebellion or do we submit realizing all authorities even the most corrupt are only there because God has allowed it?

Not fighting as the world fights does not mean Christians do not always bear arms nor does it mean they always do. What fighting as a Christian truly means is to crucify our flesh daily and follow him. Surely whatever we seek to do a large part of our lives must be spent on our knees. In this we realize like ancient Israel that the battle belongs to the Lord.
