Thanks for this review. I remember reading this book when I was at school. It was part of the curriculum for people in Year 10, which means I was fourteen/fifteen at the time. When I re-read this last year, I was actually quite surprised that something this graphic and horrific would have been allowed, let alone mandated. I'm sure it would be today. But this book left a huge impression on me, and I've never forgotten the story (even after all these years!). Nancy Clutter's story was definitely the most shocking and the saddest.
