Hey, Dave! Here's is my poem for this challenge. I hope that you and Tink won't consider it presumptive, but I added the word, "Redeemed" in front of the form, due to the definition on Tink's page on the site, Poetry Magnum Opus. Ronsard was "a cleric, who focused more on the temporal rather than on the eternal," (my paraphrase.) Having become a Christian at the age of six, I have been staggered by the AWESOME Personage of Jesus of Nazareth for most of my life. I can't comprehend Ronsard's motivation and focus. Therefore, I would like to redeem his office with my ode. It is hard to express these thoughts without seeming to be pompous and self-absorbed, but from my heart let me say, that I am no more valuable to God than is Ronsard or any other human, regardless of belief system. The human body breathes air to stay alive. Jesus is the oxygen of my spirit. I need Him more than I need anyone else. "Redeemed Ronsardian Ode: "Ode to Goodness"" ![]() |
