That there SM is a wise woman! Have my writing skills improved by reviewing others? Definitely. Reviewing other people's work helps me focus and analyse what works, and why. We can all have an immediate and emotional reaction to what we read which will influence if we like or dislike it. But reviewing encourages burrowing deeper into the hows and whats. Do I make it a practice to review every day? On WDC at least once a week, and dare I mention outside of WDC here?!   Because I'm in a couple of FB groups where I do some reviewing too. I probably do about 4 to 5 reviews a week.Do I have any thoughts on this subject? People always say don't try to write if you never read. It's sound advice but I'd add make sure your reading includes some kind of text analysis or reviewing. Paddy Invalid Photo #1053879 |
