October Novel Prep Challenge

Not sure Brandiwyn🎶 v.2026 appreciates me carrying on this conversation here, but in my forum, until I've commented, I don't really care. But once I comment, I want others to stop because my comment being last signals for me that I have completed whatever needed to be done for that post.

If you need help or inspiration, I highly recommend the Adoption Society threads on NaNo's official site. I was reading through them and found 62 ideas to include in my stuff. They are just ideas people "leave" for others to "adopt." You can adopt as many ideas as you want and as many people can adopt the same idea as they want. They are organized into things like Adopt a Plot, Adopt a Subplot, Adopt a Last Line, Adopt a Romantic Moment, etc. You can also post your own ideas for others to adopt. Be sure to think broadly. If it's an idea about elves, how can it be translated into your characters? If it's an idea about petnapping, maybe it will spur an idea to have a character kidnapped. They are best used for inspiration, not as literal/rigid choices to use or not to use. Good luck and have fun!
