In this case it was about a migration to the Watauga River Valley near what is now Elizabethton TN, near where I live. Apparently things weren't all that good in the North Carolina Colony at the time. The location is important historically. The The Watauga Association  Open in new Window. was one of the earliest self governing entities in what would become the USA.
