A private place for Muslim sisters to sit around, get to know each other and learn |
1. Yup, I do hijab, since..I don't really remember, because in Saudi, little kids do hijab just for the fun of it, since evryone else is doing it, too. I think I 'properly' started doing it was when I was 10. 2. I like doing hijab because...um..it feels safe and protective? I know this sounds cliched, but I really do feel protected and like I don't have to look good to be a person. In Saudi, most ppl we knew had separated parties, so I don't have Dreams' problem, but now that I'm in Canada, I might face it. But what I really don't like is the 'hijab-hair' I get...it's so hard to get my hair look good again after I take it off. 3. Well, I've always worn a hijab and jilbab together, so I started wearing that properly at 10, too, though I remeber wearing it since grade 3. 4. Yup. At around 10 or 11, I think. In Saudi, that's pretty normal with the locals, so...even if it seems young, it's not really. 5. Same as for number 2. But it sure feels weird when people stare at you but that was normal even in my school in Saudi, so I can't expect better here, can I?About the jilbab, I like not having to change to go out, 'cause no one will know what I'm wearing... ![]() Ma'as-salama, N. |
