Chapter #6

Drew wants to test weightlessness

    by: scriptboy Author IconMail Icon
“Alright… So, you can grow my muscles and you can send me places, wherever you want. Is there anything else you can make me do?” Jared wondered.

Drew had already teleported him around the house a few times, and he was just now getting used to using his powers. Drew had also figured out that he had to issue the commands on his own, without any help from anybody else, in order for the powers to work correctly. In other words, Drew was the one in complete control.

Drew looked around the house and spotted a balloon which was tied to a string and then to a chair at the dining table since his younger sister was having a birthday in a few days. This gave him a few ideas.

“How about being as light as a balloon, or being weightless? I want you to tell me how I can command you to become weightless and how I can make you become normal again.” Drew said to Jared.

Suddenly, Jared knew the answer. Deep down, buried inside of him, he knew everything about Drew’s mysterious powers. Drew just had to ask him what he needed to know.

“You can make me weightless by saying that my gravity is turned off, and you make me normal again by saying that my gravity is turned on again. When you turn off my gravity, then my body will no longer be pulled towards the ground but act as if it were in zero-gravity mode, like I were floating in outer space.” Jared replied. Right away, Jared felt a little surprised by his own answer. Could Drew make him completely weightless?

“Awesome! That is sweet! We need to test this!” Drew shouted.

“Uhh… W-wh-what? You’re gonna do what?” Jared

“Your gravity is off.” Drew uttered casually.

Immediately, Jared felt his entire body rise up! His feet left the ground and his body hovered three feet in midair! He slowly started rising off the ground and began to hover over the bed in Drew’s bedroom as if he was completely weightless… Just like a balloon!

“WHAAHH!” Jared yelped, flapping his arms around and kicking his legs in midair as Drew looked on with a huge grin on his face. Drew was calmly sitting on his computer chair as Jared started to float around the room as if he were in outer space. “DREW! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME??!!”

“Get used to it, space-boy! I made you weightless!” Drew just giggled, as he watched how Jared panicked as he floated around the room.

“Ohh, wow… I didn’t realize you were able to do this…” Jared sighed as he finally calmed down. When the AC turned on and blew some cold air through the vents in the room, the flow of air suddenly pushed Jared’s floating body towards one wall.

As soon as the AC shut off, Jared slowly started drifting towards the center of the room again, as Drew looked on.

“So, how does it feel to be completely weightless?”

“I… Uhh… It feels like I’m lying on a cloud. I just wish you would’ve told me you were gonna do this to me! This is kinda… Uhh… Unexpected!” Jared mumbled. “Other than that, it just takes a little getting used to.”

Drew stood up and walked over to the side of the room where Jared was floating, which was near the door. Drew inhaled and then exhaled, blowing air towards Jared. Right away, this caused Jared’s weightless body to sail through the air and float towards the opposite side of the room.

“Hey! Quit blowing air at me! You’re blowing me away!” Jared complained.

“Ha ha! Exactly! You’re weightless! In this state, you can be completely blown away or carried away by the wind, bro!” Drew chuckled. “Want me to teleport you to the backyard?”

“NO! No! The wind is gonna carry me away! I don’t know where it will take me!” Jared gasped.

“You’re right. But you’re forgetting something really important about that.” Drew explained. “I can always teleport you back over here!”

“Uhh… Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Jared wondered.

“Why not? I’ll bring you back home! Let’s see if I can make you normal, first of all.” Drew reasoned. Just then, he saw that Jared was floating right over his bed. “Gravity is on.”

Jared suddenly plopped down from floating four feet above the bed and came down onto Drew’s bed in his bedroom.

“Urgghhh!” Jared groaned as his body landed on the bed.

“Welcome back to earth, bro!” Drew laughed out loud. “Had a great flight?”

“Ohhh… That was cool and weird at the same time…” Jared groaned, as he turned over and then sat up straight on Drew’s bed. “I never thought I’d become weightless like this!”

“Yeah! And it’s super EASY, too!” Drew grinned. “I can turn your gravity off any time and any place I want to! This is just amazing!”

“Urrrhh… Bro, I’m not a radio-controlled helicopter! I’m a human being!” Jared grumbled. “You’re starting to sound like I’m becoming more and more like some really expensive toy for you to play with!”

“Dude, to be honest, you ARE! And I got the remote control!” Drew smiled. “Look on the bright side. I can make you do all kinds of super cool stuff from now on!”

“Well… PLEASE promise me you’ll send me home if you make me weightless when we go outside, okay? I don’t wanna end up floating to Canada! That would be dan—” Jared pleaded as he suddenly began to float off the bed again. “ACK! Again?”

“HEY! You didn’t say that you turned my gravity off!” Jared whined.

“I don’t have to. I just thought it, and… Here you are. You’re weightless again!” Drew chortled.

Jared just remained calm as his body floated in the horizontal position above Drew’s bed.

“So, are you getting used to being weightless?” Drew asked him, after a minute or so.

“Uhh… Yes… I mean, if you keep on making me weightless like this. I guess I might as well get used to it!” Jared sighed.

“Great! I want you to have some fun! I’m gonna teleport you somewhere so you can float around and see where the wind takes you! Let’s see… I think I’ll teleport you to…” Drew explained.

Jared looked on in anticipation as he prepared for getting teleported somewhere while being completely weightless. He was at the mercy of the wind current! Where does Drew send him?
