Chapter #7

Alien Management

    by: Unknown
The two were not going to escape the cat, not by a long shot. There was a dilema here for you, save them or continue to enjoy this particular universe? Ultimately, you decided to save them, but in a different way. You figure by shrinking them, most of this universe will remain unchanged. Looking at both creatures on the screens, you imagine them becoming nearly microscopic, too small for the feline to find.

It worked, to an extent. The two inside the cage would see an inch as an absolutely massive distance, the feline so distant to them that neither could see much more than blurred colors of him. You and the city however, all grew, you looked out and down into the habitat as you had before, except now, all the habitats had been merged together into one big habitat, meeting the needs of all the species in it with varied conditions all over to support them. From your shack, now with windows and such, but still with computers, you find the history for this universe...

About 80 years ago, alien life found Earth. They were in a way, tree huggers and would not permit the Earth's natural life to be wiped out by man. By force and negotiation, an agreement was reached. Humans would be given materials necessary to survive and build, but would not be permitted outside of their cities. Going anywhere near a natural environment requires a reduction in your threat to it, that reduction was done by shrinking. Any cities outside designated areas were shrunken and arranged at that size out of the way. The only people normal sized outside the urban centers were those deemed to innocent to intend harm, which was determined by the shrinking machines. Those considered innocent would either be left as they were or altered into an anthromorphic form to ensure survival. With zoos, the habtats were deemed to be too dependent on humans and thus modified to be self-sustaining.

This was yet another interesting world, and given the odds of you getting the other back were almost nonexistant, your going to explore the areas that have changed...
