Chapter #27

But nobody heard

    by: Sinclair Author IconMail Icon
With a lurch, Olivia suddenly begins to move. The acids churn, causing the celery to slide further into the swamp-like stomach acid. You frantically reach out and grasp at the sides of her stomach, but find no purchase in the slimy organ. Suddenly, something rises up out of the murk of the churning digestive juices. It's a piece of broccoli. A big piece. Big enough, in fact, for you to climb up and balance on.

Your arms and legs ache from exertion. This is the only thing in here, aside from the slippery walls of her stomach, that'll keep your head above the bile. With a gasp, you collapse atop the green vegetable. It rocks to and fro, bobbing in the juices, threatening to sink beneath the surface. The acidic odor fills your nostrils, burning the inside of your nose. The air in the stomach is humid, warm and soupy. You're sweating profusely and the smell of the bile is making your eyes water. How could this be happening? What's going to become of you, now?

Suddenly, there is a rumble. A moment later, you hear the sound of a loud gulp. You look up in time to see the shadow of something falling toward you. A chewed up mass of celery, covered in a thick layer of ranch and spit. It plops into the stomach acid, causing a splash of vile liquid to hit you. You quickly turn your head away as it sprays across your back, but the few drops that manage to land on your skin burn fiercely. Your arms and legs already burn from their contact with the insides of her stomach, but it was nothing compared to the pain of having the bile directly on your skin.

You hear the girls at the table talking again, and a minute later, there is another rumble. Another gulp and a mass of chewed-up food splashes into the pool of acidic digestive fluid, splattering it everywhere.

The bile is churning and bubbling, making the surface of the thick fluid frothy and foamy. It's becoming difficult to stay upright atop the broccoli. You cling to the stalk of the vegetable and struggle to hold on. The food in the pit of Olivia's belly is dissolving and churning, becoming more and more foul-smelling as the acids break down its proteins and fats. The walls of Olivia's belly stretch and contort around the digesting matter. You try to avoid looking at the sloshing pool of the stomach, but the smell alone makes you want to retch. You try to keep calm. If she eats another thing of celery, and you manage to climb onto it before it's completely submerged, maybe you'll have a chance of surviving.

However, the next gulp causes an enormous glob of sodden chips to plunge into the soup-like stomach bile. They sizzled as they soaked in the acids and seemed to bob further into the murky depths. There wouldn't be a way to climb on those unless you wanted to remain submerged in the acids for prolonged periods of time. You needed to do something else, but what could that be?

The stomach churns and gurgles. A couple more gulps, and the piece of broccoli is in danger of sinking completely. The top of the vegetable barely skims the surface of the bile, threatening to submerge any moment now. You cling tightly to the broccoli and try to control your breathing. Panic isn't going to help.

You look around, but there is no way out that you can see. You're trapped inside her stomach. Your heart is pounding. It feels like your insides are trembling, and the bile around you is turning frothy and bubbling, from the gases and stomach chyme coming from Olivia's stomach's efforts to break down the food she is eating. The walls of her belly stretch and contort around the digesting matter, and the sound of the digestive juices sloshing and the acids breaking down the proteins and fats fills your ears. It's almost enough to drown out the muffled chatter of the conversation that's still ongoing outside of Olivia's stomach.

Another gulp, this time even louder. A ball of food, something from the platter - chips and veggies, you imagine - plops into the bubbling soup, splashing and splattering. There isn't anywhere else to go, so you brace yourself for the impact. The ball of food bounces on the surface of the stomach acid, before sinking into its soupy depths. The broccoli you're clinging to, bobbing just below the surface of the stomach bile, is quickly pushed even deeper.

You are submerged.

You gasp for breath, sucking in the heavy, soupy air in Olivia's stomach, but you don't have time to catch your breath before you go under. The bile burns as it rushes over your head, into your nose and eyes, your mouth -- everywhere. There's not even any way to swim, not in such dense, sludgy fluids.

For a minute or so, the whole thing is disorienting and horrible. Everything is chaos and the burning on your skin feels horrible and every inch of exposed flesh is itching terribly, almost as if hundreds of tiny knives were stabbing at you.

You hear the distant sound of a gulp from above, and soon there's a gush of liquid, fizzing and bubbling as it fills Olivia's stomach. It's coke, and it stings horribly on the cuts and burns on your skin, and makes the acids burn even more as they dissolve the food.

As you thrash, trying to push your way back up, the sound of bubbles from the soda mixed with the acids popping and fizzing echoes through the watery soup. You push forward and get back to the top, breaking through the surface. You are drenched, and the sting of the acid in your eyes is nearly unbearable, so you can't see.

Blindly, you flail about, desperately trying to find something to grab onto. Your hand grazes something slimy and slick, but it breaks apart in your hand as you grab it, and you are left groping about again. Everything around you is becoming a blur. The acids and enzymes are dissolving everything that was in there, including you!

Another gulp. Another ball of food comes splashing into the bile, and you're pushed under again. This time, you don't come back up. The stomach bile is breaking you down into nothing more than a meaty glob of nutrients and waste matter for Olivia's body to use as sustenance.

This was it. Everything you ever were, what little you managed to accomplish in life, what you could have accomplished, your crush on Olivia, the friends you've made, your hopes and your dreams...

Everything you could have ever done or been was reduced to less calories than even a single chip could provide, and what wasn't used would be packed up and flushed away as nothing more than a girl's shit.

You should have stayed with Grace.
