Zell was always a fast runner, but in his current condition it would have taken him some time before reaching it and in the meantime he could clearly see one member of the cantina staff was just on the other side and about to close for the day. And in that moment the door never felt so far away. Nonetheless, Zell wasn't one to just give up without a fight, so he kept running through the empty corridor and confident that he wouldn't be noticed.
< I have to make it! > He thought.
< I've come too far to fail now! >
The cantina staff had just put the key in the keyhole, ready to close shop, and Zell knew this was the time: make or break it.
He then leapt forward and, luckily, managed to lunge himself beyond the door that was shut right behind him as he ducked and used both hands and feet to soften the impact of his landing. Only when he stopped he looked upwards to the staff with a cocky grin that looked like it said
"Gotcha!"
After standing up and trying to keep his balance against the earthquake he felt as the staff walked away, he took a moment to look around now that he didn't need to hurry anymore.
The cantina felt like a completely different place from his perspecive, and not just because he was as big as an ant, if even that. There was a different atmosphere alltogether when it was almost entirely empty save for the cooks and cleaning staff.
Zell took some time looking around and taking in the atmosphere to unwind from the race against time he had just before. All he needed to do now was to wait for the cooks to prepare the following day's hotdogs and leave so he could act undisturbed.
He sat down next to a chair leg to wait and for a while all was quiet: no one came close enough that he risked being squished and still no one noticed he was there.
However this would not last, as while it was true that he didn't have to hurry anymore, it was also true that his troubles were far from over.
