Since 16 year old Liz bore a remarkable resemblance to actress Grace Caroline Currey, it’s safe to say that Liz was a perfect Mary Marvel.
About eight o’clock, though, Liz had to leave the oarty for two reasons. The first was that, although he was trying to act engaged, Liz’s 14 year old brother Ray was clearly bored out of his mind. The second reason was that Liz’s mother was in the process of getting drunk with her sisters, and didn’t want her kids to see her completely wasted.
So Liz walked Ray back to the isolated cabin she, Ray and her mother were staying at during the reunion.
Liz didn’t mind taking care of her younger brother. Last year, Liz’s older brother had turned eighteen and enlisted in the Air Force, and was currently stationed halfway across the world. Liz’s older sister had taken a new job on the other side of the country, and couldn’t make it back for the reunion. So Liz and Ray were the only two kids left at home.
Liz didn’t mind. Ray was very sweet, plus a lot smarter than she was. He actually tutored her in some classes!
Liz’s father, as usual, has ditched his wife’s reunion. And Liz’s aunts had told her that her mother was going to stay with them for the evening. So it was going to be just Liz and Ray until morning.
Liz had just locked all the doors and windows in the cabin, and was standing face to face with Ray, asking him what he wanted to do, when she suddenly and inexplicably shrank down to five and a half inches in height.
