"Hmmm." Ashley says, looking at you carefully. "You're scared aren't you?" She says, frowning.
Well, to a degree she's right. Not of her, more of... what's happening. Thinking is getting way easier, but it's gone. You can't remember who you are, what's going on. Why? Why is this happening? Ashley is special though, you know that and try to fix it in your head. Protect! Don't hurt her!
"Hey, don't be scared, alright?" Ashley says, then creeps slightly closer. "OK? OK Mister snake?" and she takes another step, just a couple of feet away now.
Mmmm, she does smell tasty, but no. You know absolutely you can't hurt her. You don't know why, but it's a certainty! You fix it in your head, one of the few remaining snippets of your old self, sure you just... want her safe. Unhurt.
And amazingly Ashley creeps another step closer, then kneels down, nervously reaching out to you. Staring up at her you wonder what she thinks she is...
She gently strokes across your head, her smell wafting heavily into you. Mmmm, tasty. But... no. You can resist that, but it's... very nice. Very very nice!
"There, nice snake." She says, getting more confident, slowly stroking down your head, across the top of your neck. "Heh he, you are pretty weird, but. Feel nice. Not slimy like I thought. Smooth, firm, warmish. I thought snakes were cold?"
You don't know, but you do like this. Feeling her stroking you repeatedly is calming. Gently you lift your tail up, and Ashley starts abruptly as it touches her cheek.
"Oh! Heh, wait," She says, then the tail tip strokes her cheek, then repeats, parodying what she's doing to your head. She gets it. "Hey. Cute. This is so weird. But you're smart aren't you? I always wanted a smart pet, like something really clever, like in the movies. But they aren't real. They just make them look smart. Dogs aren't that clever, and I never really liked dogs anyway. What about you? You like dogs?"
You have no idea. Honestly, you don't know what a dog is. Would they taste good?
