I Choose You, Leafbon!

"I choose Leafbon." Forest said decidedly. Professor Hickory gave Forest the ball, and Forest released the Pokemon.
"Leaf leaf!" Greeted the Pokemon.
"Hello there," Forest said to her, "I'm your new trainer, Forest. I bet we'll be great friends." The Pokemon took a look at her new trainer, and a look of horror came across her face. Before Forest could say anything, Hickory spoke again.
"Well, now that you have you're first Pokemon, you can begin you're journey. Are you ready?" She asked. Forest straightened up and looked at the Professor seriously.
"Yes mam, I am."
"Then welcome to the world of Pokemon. Here is a Curina's Pokedex, and five pokeballs to get you started, good luck!" The professor said, handing Forest the items. Forest put them a pocket in her bag.
"Alright Leafbon," Forest said to her Pokemon, who looked suspiciously like it was about to sneak away, " It's time to start our journey!" Forest punctuated her sentence with an (extremely cheesy) fist pump. However, just then, the doors to the lab were flung, open and standing there was Forest's childhood rival...
