Turns out, sprinting away at the first available moment had him get a considerable distance advantage... had a human been chasing him. You're no human, though, and can cross the pasture in a fraction of the time a sprinting person can.
You smile, feeling his friend settle down low inside of your stomach feeling him scream his lungs out and trying to rip through your skin unaware that it's nothing but a massage to you, at worst a mild stomachache for you. You gallop after his friend, neighing all the way to taunt and terrifying him before he joins his friend as your nourishment. They'll pay for hurting your human with their lives!
But, unfortunately for you, you cannot get to him in time before another horse gets in the boy's way. He gets knocked down,falling over by his own momentum as he runs right into its side.
