Her name was Shiari, or at least that's the closest approximation that our human tongues can pronounce. She was one of many of the planetary beings who came to Earth long ago and, upon seeing the condition it was in (environmental catastrophes, nuclear war, etc.)... offered humanity a way to possibly escape the fate they were seemingly on.
They offered their bodies as our new homes. Each one was roughly the size of Earth, so it was possible. You don't know how your family came to live on Shiari, but she has been a great guide to the descendants of her first settlement. "Not too bad, passing through the Ax*Lrxt!alax# Nebula, a region of the cosmos with large amounts of ice planets. So a nice temperature should be on the schedule today." she replied, sounding like she was right THERE in the room. Chuckling you headed over the food replicator, to have some breakfast. As you walked over, Shiari sent you images and numbers and statistics about your health, as well as suggestions for what to eat to stay healthy. Of course this is purely up to you, though the 'planet' was worried about your health.
Another thing that weirded out the initial settlers.
Sighing as the machine made your food, you poured a cup of coffee and looked out the window, overseeing the immense expanse of...
