Chapter #9

You decline, and the dragon takes you away

    by: lkjuiop Author IconMail Icon
You want to say yes, but the smell of rotten dragon farts still lingers in your nose. If you try again, that dragon will find you. You could run for days, or even weeks, and you're certain that he'd be able to track you down just as easily. You shudder at the thought of what he might do to you then. Being trapped in a tree as the mythical beast let loose on you was horrible enough as it was.

The dragon rolls his eyes as you ponder what to do. "Too late, human. You took too long. Besides, judging by the look on your sad little face, you know how it would end as much as I do. Now hold still, unless you want me to fall for a mile straight.

You tilt your head in confusion, but quickly realize what the dragon means by this. He suddenly leans down, and takes you into his maw, coating your body in saliva as he closes it around you. You can feel the dragon take off, flying back to his den. All the while, his tongue taunts and teases your body. Once in a while, he lets out a burp, just to force another foul smell onto you, and remind you that at any moment he could tilt his head back and send you traveling straight to his unforgiving stomach.

You're too terrified to squirm much because of that, instead letting the slimy tongue lather you in sticky, hot saliva. You travel for a long time before you feel the beast land, and open his maw wide, letting you roll off his tongue and onto the floor.

You look at one side to see the entrance to the dragon's cave. A strong claw dragging across the floor turns your attention back to the beast, who points behind him with a tail.

To your horror, you see that you're on an island! There's no land anywhere nearby as far as you can see, and it's a sheer drop to the water.

He gives you a smug grin as the futility of your situation sets in. "Welcome to my cave, little human. As you can see, I enjoy my solitude. As you can see, you won't be escaping from me anytime soon." He lets out a dark chuckle as your body shivers in despair. You really were trapped. The only way you were getting out is if someone somehow rescues you, or if the dragon does it himself.

"Now then..."
