Bryony rolls 6, but you roll a mere 4, so allowing her to start first. She picks up the die again and rolls again, this time rolling a 3. She picks up the pink playing piece, and walks it three spaces down of the spokes towards the edge of the board, ending on a blank space. So now it’s your turn. You roll a 4. You move the blue playing piece along 4 spaces onto a blue space. You know you must take a card from the little dispenser, although are a bit confused why there’s only a single dispenser – surely you need six sets of question cards – one for each category?
You reach forward to press the button on the dispenser Bryony sees what you’re doing, jumps forward and whacks her hand onto the button before you reach it. However, nothing happens. “Why won’t it work?” Bryony exclaims. “It’s broken!” Oh great. No wonder the game was in the garage sale – the only functional part of the entire game won’t work. You reach forward to see if you can fix it, but as soon as your hand is over the button you hear a gentle clunk, and a card emerges from the slot near the bottom of the dispenser.
“Well that’s weird.” you mutter. Either it just took a long time to respond to Bryony hitting it, or it somehow detected the presence of your hand.
“That’s not fair.” Bryony cries. She hits the button again, but again nothing happens.
“Hang on. You’ll get your turn in a minute. This card is for me, after all.” The card has a blue background framed in a red border. In the top corner is a symbol which you assume is meaningful in Japanese, with writing in English alongside it stating the category – ‘Nice’. Below this there is more writing in Japanese, again with the English translation. It says:
