You grab your throbbing hand. Oh the pain, you can’t move it and you can see it is red and swelling. You hear the THUMP, THUMP of Kelly’s walking and without looking you just run for any shelter you can. In the corner of your eye you see a large black cave like thing, out of panic you run and dive into it as your sister’s giant feet stamp past. You hide in the darkness and gasp for air from your panicked run. You cradle your hand and try to move it. I burns with pain and feels raw and large with the swelling of blood. Your fingers move and you figure it isn’t broken but should still be put on ice which is the least of your problems right now.
You get your breath and look around you. You are in what you guess is a shoe because it is soft and a little musky in here. But the thing is you dived into it with out climbing in. You can tell it isn’t turned over and you look out into the light of the room. There is no back to this shoe; your sister doesn’t have any shoes that you’ve noticed without backs. Move thumping comes and you see two giant feet in white ankle socks stand outside your hiding place. You are by no means an expert on feet but you know those aren’t Kelly’s feet, you got up close and personal with those and these are way bigger.
“HONEY, WHERE ARE MY BROWN MULES?” Your mom! “OH HERE THEY ARE NEVER MIND.” You stare in horror as the giant white clad foot turns and plunges into your hiding place. “Mom stop…” You try to get away but it isn’t any use you are hit by the wall of white cotton and shoved to the toe section of the mule.
Cathy slipped on her shoes casually and walks out of Kelly’s room. “Honey, have you seen your brother?” “NO!” Kelly calls from the living room. “Okay, I’m taking Shannon to the pool and meet up with your Aunt Donna and some friends, you be good and take care of Sarah.” “Okay, Mom, bye.”
Cathy grabs a towel out of the closet and then reaches up high to get her swimming cap, she rarely used it but you never know, she had to get on her tippy-toes to reach which nearly crushed poor Scott. “Okay bye? Shannon, come’ on, Sweetie.” Cathy walks out of the house and down the street with Shannon right behind.
