Spooky hovers above you, silently smiling down at you as she ponders what to do. She never saw a tiny person before, but her haunted mansion is a very mysterious place, so she isn’t exactly surprised to see something like you show up. Regardless, she’s very intrigued by you—both due to the fact that you’re the first shrunken person she’s ever seen, and due to the fact that she has no idea how you got in here.
In addition to her curiosity, she feels a rush of excitement as she considers how much more terrifying this mansion must be to someone so tiny and weak. She gets a strong urge to watch your progress and enjoy seeing your fear, and she finally makes up her mind.
She giggles and leans down towards you, while still hovering above you. “Okay, little doll,” she says at last. “I’ve decided what to do with you. It’s obvious that you won’t last long in this place on your own. So I’m coming with you.”
“Really?” you ask. “Um... thanks! Will you help me, or just watch?”
“To be honest, I’d rather just watch,” she says. “If I help you, you’ll get out of all the scares and traps too easily. But then again... this is the first time I’ve seen a tiny person in here. This is a rare opportunity. I wanna see how you do, and it wouldn’t be fun if you died super fast. So... I guess I can give you some help, when you need it.”
Your heart skips a beat. This is great news! With help from this ghost girl, you might actually survive this mansion.
“Thank you!” you shout. “Thanks so much! Well, should we get going, then?”
“Sure,” says Spooky. “Just head through that door. Remember: there are 1000 rooms ahead. Even with me helping you out, it’s a long way to go!”
Spooky laughs and flies into the ceiling. You sigh as the ghost girl vanishes, then head towards the door, confident that she’s still keeping an eye on you even though you can’t see her. You open the door and enter another room, and make your way towards the sole door on the opposite wall. The door leads to another hallway, and another one, and an empty square room...
Not only is this less scary than you expected, it’s also taking longer than you were hoping it would. At your tiny size, you’re moving a lot slower than usual, and it’s tiring you out. Even crossing a single room is a challenge.
You begin to wonder if you should ask Spooky for help. If you do, she might get frustrated or angry at you. But if you don’t, it’ll take forever to get to the end of this mansion—assuming you don’t die of exhaustion first.
