As Helen neared her apartment, she couldn't help but wonder who attacked you and why. If what you said was true, and she pretty sure you were telling the truth, then you really were just a normal guy who found himself suddenly shrunk out of the blue and thrown into the city for whatever reason.
Whoever did this to you clearly had a sadistic sense of humor. Why else wouldn't they have just killed you instead of leaving you at the mercy of the larger world around you. Any number of people out on the street not paying attention could've killed you long before either of you could meet.
The thought alone was enough to send shivers down the superheroine's spine. She could only imagine if the roles were reversed and one of her own enemies found a way to shrink her down to size. Because of her body if she got stepped on, she would probably flatten out like gum.
The masked superhero momentarily halted her thoughts as she used her powers to carefully maneuver into her apartment without anyone taking notice of her. This was admittedly pretty easy as she'd done this countless times before. Even with you on her person she wasn't at all hampered.
Once inside she shut the window behind her and unfurled her fist to greet you. "Alright, we're here. Welcome to my humble abode and apologies in advance for any mess you may find, I was kind of in a bit of a rush this morning and didn't have time to straighten up."
From you perch in the giantess's palm, you were able to get glance at the living room down below. It wasn't terrible but the clothes strewn about on the couch and leftover Chinese food on the coffee table was obviously the mess the auburn-haired woman was referring to.
"It's okay. The mess gives your home that lived in feel." You tried to joke. Your attempt at humor must've landed because Elastigirl actually chuckled. At least being shrunk hadn't affected your sense of humor.
"You're too sweet. I'll let you down here on the table and start making some calls, okay." Elastigirl smiled. You agreed and she gently let you down on the coffee table next to her leftovers before disappearing into the kitchen where the nearest phone lied.
With you safe and sound for now, Helen took a seat on the kitchen and began to dial up a number. She was no scientist and didn't have a clue on how to begin helping you, but she knew someone who definitely might. The phone rang... "Come on. Hey, Edna. It's me..."
You meanwhile took a seat, leaned against the box of noodles. All you could smell coming from it was soy sauce and spices. Mostly the soy sauce. Hopefully Elastigirl had a solution to your problem. You didn't want to spend the rest of your life small. Another thing to think about it just how you got into this situation to begin with.
Was this all a cruel stroke of fate... or did someone do this to you. As far as you knew, you didn't have any enemies. Or at the very least, you didn't know anybody who disliked you enough to want to shrink you and leave you for dead in the city.
Your thoughts are interrupted by a clicking sound coming from the kitchen, followed by the sound of footsteps. Elastigirl was back and apparently, she had some news. You prayed that it was good news though. You don't think you could handle any bad news in your current state.
The superheroine placed her hands on her hips and said, "Okay, here's the deal..."
