Dextra has a crush on Kite, the number hunter, but he has never noticed her feelings. Kite is too busy finding all the Number Cards to save his brother's life.
The least she can do is try to capture some numbers to lighten Kite's heavy workload: every time he fights with the photon transformation he loses a lot of energy, finishing the duels quickly eases the side effects, but does not eliminate them, if he will continue fighting like this...
Dextra's thoughts are interrupted by the alarm, the computer has detected a new Number Card. Dextra knows that Kite is tired, so she volunteers to go get it.
She finds herself fighting with a boy, during the fight she summons the number 24, Dragulas the Vampiric Dragon. Dextra instead summons her monster: Photon Papilloperative, the Photon monsters were designed specifically to counter the powers of the Number Cards. During the fight the boy talks to Dextra.
"Why are we fighting?"
She doesn't want to openly say that she wants to take her favorite card, so she just shows the facts. "We've received reports from everyone you've challenged, they've suddenly found themselves in the hospital with no energy."
"It wasn't my fault, since I took this card, I've been hungry for life energy, the more I absorb, the hungrier I get, I can't stop."
"Give me the card, and all of this will end." She tries to convince you. Your story reminds her a bit of Kite's.
"I tried to get rid of it, it always comes back to me, I even tried to burn it." You cry, turning pale at the thought of what happened. "What I'm doing is looking for someone strong enough to beat me so I can get rid of it."
"Then I'll be happy to help you. Photon Papilloperative, attack!"
"Activate your trap card, and victory will be ours." The monster whispers in your ear. You refuse and Dragulas is destroyed. "You made your choice, now you will pay the consequences."
You feel a shock and pass out, not knowing that you are shrunk on the ground. Dextra is surprised, they usually use the Photon Hand to steal the opponent's number, but she hadn't done that yet and this was not expected.
She looks at your weak and defenseless body on the ground, wondering how long it's been since you ate real food or slept. She feels a little sorry for you, but she doesn't want anyone to know what happened, so she picks up you and the card and gives it to Kite, advising him not to use it, after all there are numbers that Kite kept in his collection and never used in a duel again, for whatever reason.
Dextra enters his room, puts you on the pillow of the bed and lets you sleep.
When you wake up…
