Chapter #11Silent as a shadow by: Unknown The Pokemon towering over you was one you saw before, somewhere in a book, and it made you feel very intimidated with its presence alone, since you knew what power it possessed.
No wonder for a legendary Pokemon.
It had a small, dark grey body with short limbs, its head shaped like some sort of flame. Its eyes were fiery red and looking straight at you. It was a Marshadow, a Pokemon that could come and go from the shadows at will, and it was highly recommended not to make it angry in the slightest, because despite the body, it was said to have a huge power.
After staring at it for a few moments, you backed up, startled from the sudden appearance. Was it hiding in your shadow? Following you?... Was it the cause of your shrinking?
You backed up, the giant standing perfectly still, just staring at you. Then, you tripped over a root and fell with your butt on the hard ground.
You quickly recovered from the impact and looked back at the giant... from this new angulation, you could see something, right in between the legendary's stubby legs and blushed: this giant was actually a giantess...
You remained still, simply staring at the legendary, who stared back at you without moving nor speaking.
But then, she took a step towards you, causing your heart to start lifting to your throat.
Another step. And another, until she was looming over you once more.
Then, with slow motions, she began bending, her hand extending as she went to grab a hold of you.
You fought the urge to crawl away lest it'd anger the giantess and let her scoop you up.
You were brought up to the Marshadow's fiery eyes as she fixed a neutral stare on you. She didn't look hostile nor friendly. She was just... studying you, maybe trying to determine what you were on, in the worst of cases, if you were edible or not.
The ghost-type examined you in silence for a few minutes, moving her paw back and forth.
You didn't say a word either, but you felt very scared.
Until you began to feel very weak.
At first, the circumstances led you to think the Marshadow was doing something to you but then logic led you to a different conclusion: you were naked in a frosty night with a much weaker body than it used to be.
You were starting to freeze.
In an attempt to warm yourself up, you grabbed both your shoulders as you embraced yourself and began rubbing your naked body, but it was pointless, as what little amount of heat you managed to get in your body quickly dispersed.
Desperate, you looked back at Marshadow with a pleading stare,
"Help..." you whispered, fearing for your life, which was probably gonna end if you didn't get away from here soon.
Luckily, the giantess seemed to understand and, silent as she had been so far, she began walking, her feet not making a noise.
She began picking up the pace and her walk became faster while you sat on her paw, trying your best to get some warmth to enter your body, going so far as laying down and rubbing yourself on Marshadow's hand. The giantess either didn't mind or ignored you, because she kept going through the forest.
Normally, a Marshadow would use the shadows to move since they had an ability similar to Gengar's to become one with the shadow. However, humans like yourself did not posses such ability, meaning that if she was to jump in a shadow, you'd be left behind to die alone.
You just laid on her hand, trying to keep yourself conscious as the cold grew pungent and clouds of vapor began escaping from your mouth each time you inhaled.
Just your luck, you thought, shrinking on a cold night like this one.
Fortunately, this would go on for about a couple more minutes before Marshadow reached a small hole in a stone wall.
Apparently, she knew about it, because she slid inside without even thinking twice. Luckily, her body was small enough for her to fit and yours was way more than enough to fit inside the hole.
Darkness became your environment and, for a while, all you could see was the pair of fiery eyes belonging to Marshadow.
But then, a green light lit the place up.
You discovered that Marshadow's head had gone from dark grey to dark green, while her head was acting like a flame, as well as her neck and the back of her hands.
Your perch suddenly became warmer and, when your body became warmer as well, you breathed in relief.
Apparently, you were safe.
However, you quickly returned to reality: you were shrunken and in the hands of a Pokemon whose intentions were unclear. But, she saved you, so Marshadow was friendly, right?
You looked up at her, trying to find any traces of malice in her eyes, but she quickly looked away as she began a walk through the cave and went to sit down by a wall.
It was a good place to hide, you mused, since the hole was too small for any Pokemon, except maybe for a Joltik, to enter, though you doubted they'd be much of a match to your new host.
Again you, you looked at her, discovering that, once more, she was staring at you in silence.
This was starting to become awkward.
"... Thank you," you finally broke the ice, figuring you should have said something to her,
"Thank you for saving me. I doubt I would have made it out of that forest alive on my own."
Marshadow blinked, as if surprised from the fact that you could talk, and for several moments she didn't act.
But then, without any warning, the legendary... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
