With her body still emanating heat thanks to the green flames that came from it, Marshadow began lowering the hand you were on.
Initially, you thought she was going to put you on the ground, but then you realized where the paw, and consequently you, was headed.
Before you knew, you were pinned against the Marshadow's chest by the one paw that previously held you, and that was now holding you in place so that you didn't fall off.
The texture of her body was odd, like solid smoke, and it was fairly cold. You supposed a Pokemon that inhabited the shadows didn't get much warm, though the flames behind you were making up for her cold body.
Soon, her other paw joined the first as you were fully trapped in between them and the giantess' chest, your body rapidly retrieving the warmth it had previously lost.
You glanced at Marshadow the best you could, since the two large paws obscured your view.
Unable to get a glimpse of the giantess, you began squirming to get free from her grip, or to free at least your head.
While it was clearly saving your skin, you still couldn't be sure about her intentions, and feared that a quick moment of distraction could be lethal. Who guaranteed she was just warming you up because she didn't like her dinner cold?
Feeling you struggling in her grip, the legendary loosened a bit and looked down at you, shooting an inquisitive stare.
Those red eyes of hers stared deep into your soul, silently seeking for an answer to your unjustified struggles.
Seeing that you had her attention, you placed your hands on her chest and pulled yourself up a bit.
"Okay, I suppose I have to thank you," you spoke, deciding to assume that she could understand you. Legendary Pokemon were smart, after all, so smart that you had heard of some of them being able to speak human language without issue.
"But why are you doing this? Why are you helping me?" you warily asked, wondering what you could do in case the response (if it was ever going to come) was a negative one that you wouldn't appreciate.
The legendary giantess just stared at you for a few moments, as silent as ever.
That gaze of hers seemed hypnotic, her red eyes acting like two mirrors for you to see yourself, a doll stuck in the hands of such a small creature. However, they also carried a particular gleam, which in time carried a soothing sensation.
And then, Marshadow let a very small smile spread on her face.
That was the sole answer you got to your question, because she then trapped you in her paws once more, her face disappeared behind them.
This time, you didn't struggle.
You didn't know why, but you were gaining some trust for the giantess. It was safe to assume that she was just a kind soul who wanted to help you in dire times, in this case by keeping you from dying alone in the woods, either eaten by some of the larger beasts that wandered out there, crushed by the same beasts or even worse from the hypothermia you nearly died of before she brought you in this cave.
You laid still for what seemed an eternity, trying to recollect your thoughts, the only audible sound being the heartbeat of the legendary.
That did a good job soothing you. It was a rhythmic, hypnotic sound that didn't allow you to focus on the same line of thinking for more than just a few moments.
Then, as time drew on, you began feeling drowsy.
The soothing heartbeat and the comforting warmth were making really hard for you to focus, but you still didn't want to let your guard down.
You felt conflicted.
Could you trust in Marshadow's good faith and go to sleep?
You were so tired you quickly decided you didn't care. She was acting, if not friendly, at least not hostile either, and that was all you needed.
You closed your eyes, letting the warmth envelop all of your naked body and the rhythmic beats of her heart invade your mind, rid it off all thoughts until nothing remained.
Slowly, your body relaxed and your consciousness began to fade away as you nodded off to sleep in the paws of the legendary.
--
When you woke up, you felt like a great amount of time had passed.
Dazed, sleepy and probably still dreaming, you opened your eyes, blurry figures dancing around your eyes until they took on a shape.
You recognized the surroundings of the cave you had been brought in, a small twinkle of light peering inside from the tiny hole that served as an entrance, meaning two things: it must have been morning now, and yours was no dream.
This last realization soon led you to yet another one.
You looked around, remembering who helped you last night. However, Marshadow was nowhere in sight.
Had she abandoned you in the middle of nowhere!?
Already panicking, you failed to notice that things looked a bit darker from your point of view.
However, before you could collect your thoughts, you casually looked down... and nearly fell on your behind.
From the stone floor, a familiar pair of red eyes stared at you, seemingly from inside the floor itself.
However, as your mind began to put two and two together, you realized that your new legendary friend, if so you could dare to call her, had taken shelter within your shadow.
"Um... hi?"
There was no reply, but the shadow suddenly trembled as from it the familiar titaness emerged, until she was towering above you much like she had been when she first found you in the forest floor.
"Um... good morning..." you awkwardly said, wondering how you could speak to someone who didn't make a noise,
"I... thanks for saving me last night... guess I really owe you..." you said.
Marshadow offered one of those small smiles of hers, before returning stoic as ever, once more staring you down without saying a word nor making a move.
You felt uncomfortable under her gaze, mostly because of the sheer size of her eyes alone, even though they still carried that caring gleam in them.
For several moments, nothing interesting happened as you and the legendary just stared at each other.
At some point it even seemed she wanted to say something, as you saw her lips trembling, but you could easily be mistaken.
