Kevin still couldn't believe he was left home alone! For most kids this would be horrible and scary but for Kevin, it was almost like a dream come true! No getting picked on by his annoying siblings, no parents to yell at him and not believe him, and no rules! Ordinarily, he would have to defend his house from the wet bandits, but this year, they targeted a completely different house, and Kevin would have some new visitors.
Just as Kevin was about to go get some ice cream, he heard the sounds of backing trucks. He wondered what was even happening, peeking out the window to see two semi trucks backing trailers into his driveway. It almost looked like people were moving in. Maybe his parents did disappear! Maybe he was getting a new family!
Kevin went upstairs to snoop, but much to Kevin's surprise, the drivers dethatched the trailers and left. While Kevin didn't know if it was a good idea, he nevertheless decided to walk up to one of the trailer doors, surprised to see that it wasn't locked. He climbed up into the trailer, only to find crates filled with cookies. What surprised him the most was the fact that, despite the fact that the inside of the truck was frigid cold, the crates radiated warmth. Kevin opened the back of the other trailer, only to find crates filled glass milk bottles, which was odd given that the trailer wasn't refrigerated.
The drivers were gone, though, so Kevin was more than happy to bring a crate of each in the house, having a convenient dolly and ramp to help him! Kevin sat down on the recliner, laying back and relaxing as he turned on the TV, grabbing a cookie and some milk, feeling that the cookie was surprisingly warm, and it was big, too! Much to Kevin's delight, as he took a bite, it felt and tasted like it had come fresh out of the oven! Kevin was hooked immediately, scarfing down the rest of the warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie before trying a swig of milk.
Kevin was also delighted by the milk, which was at the perfect temperature to be cool and refreshing, and was also smooth and creamy to boot, tasting fresher than any milk he'd ever tried before! Kevin was amazed by both of these "gifts", not to worried about where they came from, and he eagerly scarfed down several more cookies, chugging half of the remaining milk in the sizable jug, moaning in delight at the taste.
Little did Kevin know that the cookies and milk that arrived at his place were not supposed to go there. The milk and cookies were experimental products: cookies that were designed to stay warm and taste fresh out of the oven for a long time, and milk that was supposed to stay fresh and cold for a long time, even at room temperature! The big downside was that the chemicals that were used to keep the cookies and milk preserved also made them incredibly addicting, and Kevin was none the wiser. They had been mistakenly delivered to Kevin's house, through a system mix-up, and because the cookies and milk were being tested for their longevity, nobody was going to go check on them any time soon!
In the meantime, Kevin belched loudly, having eaten dozens of cookies, leaving a small pile of empty milk bottles next to the recliner. His belly was now distended and stuffed to the size of a basketball, and his belly button had even popped out. "Now this is living!" Kevin said as he patted his belly in satisfaction, his greedy tendencies only exacerbated by the fact that the cookies were so addictive!
