Chapter #53Round 2, Father Vs Son Slugfest! Part 1! by: Wolfboy.com 2   "So, you're really not backing down are you?" Mark asked his son as he stepped into the ring.
Chumley looked at his father dead in the eye as he said "Not a chance. After all the work my friends put into helping me improve, they reminded me of why I came to this school in the first place. And that was to prove that I could be better than you, and make my dream of becoming a card designer come true."
"A card designer?" Mark asked as this was the first time he heard of his sons true ambitions. "That's a cutthroat business son. I doubt you have the stomach for it."
"I can stomach plenty." the heavy weight young man stated while patting his round belly proudly. "But enough talk, let's duel!" he then called out as he activated his Duel Disk.
Mark could see his son was dead set in both this duel and his goals, and it honestly made him proud to see his son so earnest. But he didn't let any of it show as he activated his own Duel Disk. "Okay son, let's see what you've got." he said with steel in his voice.
"Duel!" the father and son shouted in unison, thus beginning the duel.
Chumley LP: 4000
Mark LP: 4000
"Alright, here I come!" Chumley called out as he made the first draw.
Chumley's Hand: Des Koala, Beast Soul Swap, Wild Nature's Release, Des Kangaroo, Silent Doom, Des Koala.
"Totally licious!" he thought happily at seeing the cards in his Hand, confident that he can surprise his father with what he planned to do. "I place a monster face-down in Defense Mode. Then I place 1 card face-down to end my turn."
"Heh, trying to get me with a flip effect I see." the experienced pro chuckled as he made his draw. "Well hate to tell you this son, but it's not gonna work on me. I summon Dizzy Tiger in Attack Mode!"
A male anthropomorphic tiger wearing a white tank top, sweat pants and a pair of shades stumbled clumsily across the field as was summoned. And judging from the big bottle of sake he had in his claw, it wasn't hard to figure out why.
Dizzy Tiger ATK: 1800
"Don't let his drunken stumbling fool you. This beast packs a hell of a punch with both his attack and special ability. See when he attacks a monster, he cancels all flip effects."
"No way!" Chumley exclaimed in shock.
"Yes way!" Mark called out jokingly before getting serious "Now Dizzy Tiger attack! Drunken Tiger Claw!"
The hammered big cat somehow managed to stumble over to Chumley's side of the field and gave his face-down monster a solid hit that flipped it over, revealing it to be Des Koala.
Des Koala DEF: 1800
"It's almost a shame I cancelled you're monsters effect. After all, Des Koala infects 400 points of damage for every card in my Hand when it's flipped face-up. A powerful effect when used properly. But thanks to my Tiger's own effect, and his ATK being the same as Des Koala's DEF, neither of us takes any damage."
"Woah, he's good." Jaden said very impressed with that move.
"He's a pro for a reason." Alexis stated factually, also impressed with Mark's strategy.
"It's okay Chumley!" Syrus called in support once he saw his friend start to get nervous "The duel's just started! Just remember your training and keep going!"
Chumley took a deep breath to calm his nerves before he made his next draw. And when he saw that he drew Big Koala, one of his strongest monsters in his Deck, he felt his confidence return. "Not a bad move dad. But I'm just warming up! I summon Des Kangaroo in Attack Mode!"
A green kangaroo with a scar over his right eye, wearing a purple vest and boxing gloves was brought to the field, letting loose a few jabbing combos to warm up for the fight to come.
Des Kangaroo ATK: 1500
"Next, I switch Des Koala to Attack Mode!" he called out as his Duel Spirit stood up from his defensive position.
Des Koala ATK: 1100
"Now I play Wild Nature's Release! This card increases the ATK of 1 Beast/Beast Warrior-Type monster on my field by the value of it's DEF! And the monster I choose is Des Koala!" he explained as his Duel Spirit became bigger and more feral looking as his strength increased considerably.
Des Koala ATK: 1100-2900
"Not bad son." Mark admitted stoically "But don't forget that Wild Nature's Release causes the monster you've used it on to be destroyed at the end of your turn."
"You let me worry about that." Chumley said with a smirk "You should be more worried about the nearly 5 tons worth of hurt coming your way. Des Koala, attack Dizzy Tiger!"
The empowered marsupial charged with blazing speed and attacked with blinding fury, the drunk tiger never had a chance.
Mark LP: 4000-2900
"And now I activate my face-down, Beast Soul Swap! With it, I can take any 1 Beast-Type monster on my field and return it to my Hand! Plus I can special summon a new Beast-Type monster in it's place as long it's of the same Lv! So I return Des Koala to my Hand, and summon a new Des Koala!"
The feral koala vanished in a flash of light as Chumley explained his Trap's effect, and a new none-feral koala appeared in his place.
"And since your now completely defenseless, all of my monster can now attack you directly! Get him!" the heavy weight young man commanded.
The experienced pro braced himself to endure the barrage of attacks his son's monsters unleashed on him. While he took a big hit, he remained standing.
Mark LP: 2900-300
"That's how you do it chum!" Jaden cheered.
"Great work! But don't let your guard down!" Alexis advised.
"You got this! Keep it up!" Syrus called out.
Chumley smiled warmly at how much support he was receiving from his friends, it really amazed him how much they've come to mean to him in such a short time.
"You've made great friends son." Mark said with a smile, fatherly pride clear to see in his eyes "I can see that they're reason you've improved so much."
"Yeah. They're the best." Chumley said sincerely.
"You fought a great duel Chumley. Better than I could've thought possible." the proud father stated honestly as he made his draw. But then a sudden chill cut through the air as the expression of fatherly pride was replaced with one of a hardened warrior. His eyes were cold as ice and sharp as a razor. "But playtime is over. I play Pot Of Greed!" he called out as he drew his 2 new cards. "Next I summon Dizzy Angel in Attack Mode!"
A male angel with long curly blond hair, wearing a loosely put on tuxedo, a black fedora and with a big bottle of booze in his hand happily stumbled on to the field.
Dizzy Angel ATK: 1800
"Then I place 4 cards face-down, and activate the Spell Card, Flipping The Table!"
Then much to everyone's shock, the entire field was transformed into a giant table, which Mark then proceeded to flip over with a mighty heave and as result all his face-down cards and Chumley's monsters were destroyed.
"What just happened?!" Jaden asked the question on everyone's mind in bewilderment.
"It's my signature move. The one turn duel ending strategy I'm famous for." Mark answered with a smirk "I can only activate Flipping The Table when I have a monster with Dizzy in it's name on my field. It allows me to destroy every card on my opponents side of the field for every card on my side, except itself. Of course I can't summon any monster on the next turn I use this effect, but luckily for me I don't need to." he said while pointing upward.
Everyone looked to see Dizzy Angel hovering clumsily overhead, he then landed back on the field and proceeded to do a merry dance.
"You see Dizzy Angel has a special effect that makes him immune to Flipping The Table. Plus, all those face-down cards I just destroyed were 4 copies of the Spell Card, Hot Sauce Bottle. And when these cards are destroyed while place face-down, then they deal 500 points of damage."
4 bottles that contained some powerful spices appeared and unleashed a potent fog of spiciness that brought a tear to the eye of anyone too close to the ring.
Chumley LP: 4000-2000
"Now I activate my last card, Rush Recklessly! This card boosts the ATK of my Angel by 700 for 1 turn!"
Chumley and his friends were left dumbfounded as they all knew that there was no possible way that he could get out of this. In spite of the work they all put into getting better, in this case, it wasn't enough.
Dizzy Angel ATK: 1800-2500
"Now Dizzy Angel, attack with Bottle Cannon!" the veteran Duelist commanded, ready to finish this duel and teach his son a harsh truth.
