Though the ideas of growth and power were circling inside Ariana’s head and the furious need for it was burning stronger and stronger inside her with each passing moment, she held it all inside before it could get loose. Even if her power journey was one of her biggest obsessions, it didn’t mean that she would throw away all logic when it came down to this. One of the reasons why she got her body to her current level was keeping her head cool; she would stop her training when enough was enough, calculating and keeping her regime like it was nuclear physics.
Also, despite how strongly some people might think of her as “muscles for brains”, Ariana always had pretty keen mind, getting better than average grades through all of her school and college life (even if they had fallen down a bit after she started going to a gym). Even though powerlifting and other physical activities had taken the spot of her main pastime, she had some other hobbies she loved to indulge in…mainly as a side action to the training.
She was somewhat of a movie buff—not a hardcore one, but some genres were very much to her liking, Sci-Fi especially. There was nothing better than to watch or listen to a B-grade space opera while running on a treadmill or benching some presses. It was much more interesting than listening to a bunch of boys try to dare each other to flirt with her or even try to take her on a date. Sure, it was fun to listen to this from time to time, but not when it happened three times in a day.
With knowledge of several possible futuristic inventions from these kinds of movies, Ariana decided to investigate the gun some more. She wouldn’t be surprised if it had some secret settings menu or hidden pad with additional switches. Even though it could still be someone’s very delicately made prank, with how detailed it was and all the warning messages it showed, it was hard to believe it wasn’t real.
After looking over the gun for a few minutes from all angles, Ariana found something on the opposite side from the screen on its casing. A bit lower from one of switches, it seemed like there was a detachable part on the gun’s grip. With a bit of a force (which wasn’t a problem for her at all), it came out, and under it were two additional sliders. One of them had words “prolonged” and “spurt” on each side of a slider, while the other had “slow” and “fast”. Right now both sliders were set right in the middle.
“Huh…is this supposed to be responsible for the type and speed of the effect this gun will make? The more I look at this, the less I think this is a ruse…but caution before use surely wouldn’t hurt, especially if this thing really does what I think it will~.”
With that, she placed the gun on the kitchen table, leaving the part with the sliders open for now and thinking about what to do with it when it fully charged.
