Without warning, the ground around her suddenly wrapped around Melona and lifted her up in the air, earning a brief scream from the girl. After getting her bearings, she realized she had been caught by a net trap and was now suspended in the air, dangling from a tall tree. The net wrapped tightly around her and only allowed the smallest of movement. She had the brief thought of calling for help, but quickly realized that whoever made this trap would probably hear her and realize they’ve caught something. Would they realize they caught her by mistake? Or was she their prey all along?
Either way, she would need to find a way out of-
“Yaha! Shrai conculdy prat ating!”
Melona froze after hearing the voice, followed by some very heavy footsteps. Melona looked through the netting that trapped her to see her captor.
“Ah? Pai sith?” Melona could recognize the giant language spoken, thanks to hearing other giants she met in her life speak it, but she didn’t need to hear it to recognize the member of the species standing before her.
The giantess had dark red hair and bright scarlet skin, identifying her as a fire giant subspecies. While fire giants were one of the smallest giant types, this giantess stood at something like 14 feet, according to Melona’s estimate, although it was hard to tell while in the air and unable to compare with her own height. She could definitely tell she would stand less than half the height of the storm giant she had as a professor, but still more than twice her own height. Wrapped around her curvy yet athletic figure was an outfit more ornate than what Melona was used to seeing on giants, featuring two sashes to give a bit more coverage for her breasts and long trousers to cover her legs. Perhaps smaller giants were able to afford more covering clothing as opposed to their larger cousins.
“A smalling?” the giantess suddenly said in common. “What are you doing out here?”
“You’re not gonna eat me are you?”
“P-Pai??”
“Please don’t eat me! I promise I don’t have enough meat on my bones to satisfy you.”
The giantess answers Melona’s panic induced pleas by explaining:
