Chapter #1

You Don't Remember Me

The tile was still warm beneath Angie's feet as she stepped out of the dorm bathroom, a clean white towel draped around her torso, hair damp and sticking to her back. The hallway on the 5th floor of Orchard Hill was quiet, late enough that most were either asleep or out.

She walked with soft, quick steps, flip-flops slapping gently against the floor. Her long, honey-blonde hair, still wet from the shower, left little droplets on the floor. Her blue eyes scanned the empty hallway as she hugged her shower caddy to her chest.

Angie stopped outside her door, Room 503, marked with a small, crooked sunflower sticker. She smiled at it faintly. Her phone buzzed.

Hey you alive? Want to hang?

She hesitated, thumb hovering over the screen. Then:

Shower walk. Kinda tired. Raincheck? :)

She unlocked her door and stepped inside.

Her room was just how she left it, cluttered but cozy. Fairy lights blinked on as she flicked the switch. A half-read fantasy book lay on her bed, waiting to take her somewhere far from real life.

She closed the door behind her and sighed.

Angie set her shower caddy down on her desk, the white towel still clinging to her damp skin. She reached for her phone, intending to silence it for the night.

It buzzed again.

But this time, the number wasn't saved.

Her thumb hovered over it.

Tap.

The message was short:

You don't remember me. But I remember you. 🫧

A single emoji. A small, harmless one, a soap bubble.

Angie stared at it, confused. Then her chest tightened. A subtle shift, like cold fingers brushing the base of her skull.

Her vision flickered. Something tightened in her mind, like a knot yanked hard.

And then, another buzz.

She tapped it without thinking.

It opened.

And for a moment, she forgot how to breathe.

There she was. Angie.

In the photo.

But it wasn't from today. It wasn't from any day she could recall.

She was… and the background was…

She clutched the towel tighter around her body, heart hammering, heat draining from her face.

She didn't remember this.

But the soap bubble had unlocked something.

Fragments surged up like ice cracking underfoot.

What is the photo that shocks Angie?

Choose the memory she begins to recover…
