This choice: How about that couple at the register • Go Back...Chapter #4Life Mix up - The young couple by: Morphology Thinking about it for a moment, Josh looked back at Jenn. "You know what? Let's go ahead and do the young married couple." He told her while glancing back over at where they were standing in line. "I feel that we're due for a break and we can find out what its like to be married, right?" He asked Jenn causing her to smile even more broadly.
Glancing back over at the couple, Josh could see that the young man looked tired. If Josh didn't know any better, the young man must have just gotten off a hard day at work and is spending time with his family. Dressed in a bright button down Hawaiian shirt hidden under a black sweater, blue jeans, and sneakers, he probably had a laid back job or worked at a company with a lax dress code. His dark hair looked to be disheveled, almost as if he either got out of bed and didn't bother to comb it or if got frustrated and ran his hands through his hair.
The wife looked to be several inches shorter than her husband, but appeared to be much more put together, if a little exhausted. A portion of her light brown hair framed her face while the remaining was tied back in a pony tail. Her sweater was peach colored looked relatively new, with the flower colored skirt and brown Ugg boots. Her daughter was wearing a pink footed pajamas and a yellow bib. Her honey blonde hair was tied up on the top of her head, much like a fictional character living in the stone age.
The son seemed to be full of energy. Being so young, it was understandable that he was bouncing around every where and making friends with everyone that was near by. His hair was closely cropped and was well groomed. The light up shoes had cartoon characters on them to go along with his long sleeve shirt and pants.
"Yep." She answered back while looking through the book to find the correct spell that would give them a little vacation from their lives. "But we will have to deal with the kids, but it should be too bad. I will add the information to deal with our lives too." She added while looking up at her boyfriend. "We don't want anything to happen to them while they're in our care, do we?"
Bringing his hand up to his chin, he started to think about it for a moment. Glancing back over at the family, he could see the young daughter looked to be really clingy and didn't want to mess anything up and have the authorities called on them for any reason. Nodding his his in agreement, he turned back to Jenn. "I think that's a great idea. Having that information will be a great help." He cocked his head slightly and narrowed his gaze down at the book. "Do you think it will do that?" He asked, not entirely sure that it was possible.
With a feigned surprise look on her face, Jenn put her hands on her hips. "Joshua Brian Mitchell, we've known each other all these years and you still doubt my ability?"
Playing along with her, Josh shook his head. "Why no, Jennifer Leanne Marshall. But it will be the second time using the book and its not like using a computer where you can input the options, right?"
Seeing his point, Jenn nodded her head. "I know, I know, but the spell works by keeping eye contact while reciting the spell. So the chance of it going wrong are small." She told him hoping to put his fears to rest. Impressed, he nodded his head.
Starting to get up, Josh stretched and looked down at his girlfriend. "While you do that I"m going to use the bathroom real quick." Pausing for a moment, he looked at the restroom and back at Jenn. "I can do that right?" He asked, trying to make sure that being away from her wouldn't hurt anything or mess anything up.
"Nope, it should be fine, I just need to keep my eye on the targets that we're swapping with since I don't know their names." She gestured over to the couple, who were still waiting in line behind a 'Karen' of a customer. Even Zoe looked like she was getting ready to strangle her, but was doing a really good job of hiding it behind her smile. Feeling his bladder calling out to him, Josh gave her a quick kiss. "The next time I see you, I will be your loving wife." She winked as she watched him blush and make his way over to the bathroom that was next to the cashier station. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
