As you were about to walk away from the lady and her booth, questions began to arise inside your mind. You knew that the necklaces could swap body parts but you had no clue what the limits were to the necklaces’ abilities. You needed to have your questions answered so you decided to stay put and talk to the old lady.
“So these things really are magical,” you said as she nodded her head.
“You got it. They were blessed with their special magic years ago by a witch who gave them to me. After my husband, George, passed away a couple years ago, I found no use in keeping them. We had plenty of fun over the years,” the lady replied as she laughed a little, recalling past memories she had with her husband using the necklaces.
“Is it just physical swaps?” You asked as you wanted to slowly check off the list of questions you had.
“Where’s the fun in that. These things can swap everything. Here, let me show you,” she said as she reached her hand out and you gave her the one necklace. She quickly put it on and began to think about a non-physical swap to do. The stone began to glow as your mind began to feel fuzzy. The feeling quickly left as you were a bit confused as to what she could have swapped.
“What did you do this time?” You asked.
“I’ll give you a hint. Think about your girlfriend,” she said with a grin. You did as she said and tried to think about your girlfriend, Cindy. As you tried to do so, your mind seemed to be coming up blank. You tried to remember what she looked like but couldn’t quite picture it. You tried to remember her favorite color and again your mind was blank. The lady could tell you were struggling and laughed.
“Now try thinking about my husband, George,” she said as you tried that. Strangely, you had ton of memories suddenly flood your mind. You could see memories of a wedding day, memories of having kids and grandkids with him, and you could even remember his last moments alive. Your eyes went wide as you realized you somehow swapped memories with the lady.
“What the fuck. I can see him. I can see your wedding day with him and I can tell you his favorite color, it’s blue,” you said as the lady continued to chuckle to herself.
“Well of course you can remember all that, I swapped our memories regarding our significant others. I can clearly remember all those special moments with your girlfriend, Cindy,” she laughed. At this point, your mind was blown as you realized how powerful these necklaces could be. You weren’t sure if you were ready to actually use them but knew that $20 would be the best $20 you ever spent.
