| | Part Two: The Deal
This had perhaps been the strangest week in Kaleb's life. Sure he had gotten a new place but it appeared that the goal of getting away from his roommate was gone. Instead, his new roommate was now more clingy than his old one ever was. Trying to search for information about ghosts and possessions turned up very little. Apparently, the pendant that was now around his neck was locked on and refused to be removed.

Most of the information he looked up just gave details about seances with huge price tags. He didn't need some fake psychic talking to Katie, he could already do that. He needed to figure out just what was happening to him and her.

Researching Katie herself did turn up results, along with her photo from the university.

"You look uh-" The girl's round moon like face was displayed on the screen. "Very pretty..." Kaleb got out as his nerves shot forward.

"I can read your mind! You don't have to compliment me, I was fat." Katie said in her sweet tone, Kaleb could almost feel her rolling their eyes.

"Well apparently you were also incredibly smart. Top of your class? One of the best the university has seen. This article on you is very complimentary, even if it doesn't say much about how you died." Kaleb kept scanning the sites for more information but was unable to turn up much of anything for the rest of the day beyond some more pictures of Katie.

"Can we just get something to eat!? There is nothing here." Katie gets out with a little whine.

Kaleb sighs out. "And who's fault is that?"

 ---

The living situation created a very frazzled week for Kaleb. Every morning he had woken up full and with new junk food stuffed empty into the trash. This was something he was hoping to resolve quickly, it was just too much every night. As he made his way into the classroom he could feel a few stares from his peers.

While Kaleb had managed to continue working out and forced himself to not overeat during the day Katie's nightly binge sessions had left their mark on his once trim figure and had layered on a nice layer of fat across his bod. There was no sure method to slow it down. That cute girl from across the room who he had been checking out only a week before snickers as he walked past her. Not that he could blame her.

It appeared that as Katie was riding along with him she had left a few side effects. The firm if not totally impressive backside he once had was now caked in flab. Sticking out slightly behind him and displayed in his incredibly tight jeans. He unconsciously reaches back and pulled up at his pants causing the cute girl to downright laugh as it made the flab bounce. It was anything but manly, in fact it appeared his cheeks and hips were developing more like a woman's than a man's. His flat belly had additional softness but it appeared that most of the pounds had invaded his lower half and stuck hard.

Having gained a hefty 15 lbs set him to 175 lbs and it was very noticeable for anyone behind him.

"What a bitch." Katie murmers in the back of Kaleb's mind as he felt his cheeks flush from the girl's attention on him. "I have a mind to teach her a lesson or two."

"Don't worry about it." Kaleb whispers out with a soft sigh as he set out his notepad and supplies. "I didn't find her that cute anyway."

"Yes you did." Katie replied softly in the background.

"Okay, maybe I did... But there are plenty of fish in-"

A piece of paper was set in front of Kaleb right then. The pretest he had done at the beginning of the week was in front of him. It displayed a perfect grade, which was around twenty or more points higher then his normal grades.

He shifts his vision up to see the plump Organic Biology Professor staring down at him.

"Kaleb, I would like to speak with you after class. It's important." Professor Ava Presley states out as he noticed that everyone else was getting their tests passed out by the teacher's aid. She was the only one that personally got his test back to him.

"Oh no..." Kaleb repeats out with a look of horror at the test. "Getting caught on a pretest? This is the dumbest way to get expelled, all that effort wasted."

"Cheating is wrong in general Kaleb." Katie chided lightly as she looks over her work. "Even if you didn't study at all maybe I shouldn't have helped there. I know you were in a bad state but this still isn't fair to the others."

Clearing her throat Professor Presley went on with the lecture. Kaleb was only half paying attention to it, his stomach twisting up with worry and an odd craving for french fries struck at him.

"Sorry, that's me." Katie echoes from his mind. "Only got two orders last night."

As the lecture ended half heard Kaleb slowly begins his death march to her desk with his perfect test in hand. Professor Presley gestured down towards her desk and he sat the paper upon it.

"Kaleb, do you know what I see here?" Her tone was careful as she looks up at the tall student.

Kaleb's throat was dry and he squeaked out a reply. "N-no ma'am. What do you see?"

"I see potential here, Kaleb." Professor Presley's face grew serious as she set a finger down on the test. "I have never seen you put this much effort into your work before. It's something I want to see more of."

Kaleb just gazes dumbfounded at her for a time, not quite believing what he was hearing.

"Kaleb, say something. Say anything." Katie prods at him. "It's a pretest, I bet she isn't going to go that harshly if just say you cheated. Just don't lie to her, but also don't tell her the truth... She'll send you to the looney bin if you said a ghost did it. "

Kaleb just stares wide eyed at her before forcing a smile on his shocked face. "Thank you, Professor Presley." He finally managed to get out. "I just grounded myself and studied more than I have before. You know, something just clicked?"

 "No Kaleb!" Katie echoes out.

"That is what I want to hear." Professor Presley sings out happily. "I almost thought you cheated but who would have cheated on a pretest?" Smiling warmly at the still stunned Kaleb she would take the test and offer it back to him. "Just know that I am watching you closely, I am expecting great things. Don't disappoint me."

"Thank you, ma'am. I will continue my best from now on." Kaleb nods at the woman before spinning on his heel and making his leave quickly as he could without running. Professor Presley getting a good look at his expanded backside jiggling lightly in his overworked jeans.

Once out he found a bench to sit on and continued his panicking. "What am I going to do!?" Kaleb gets out as he felt the worry envelop him.

"What you should have done was said you cheated." Katie gets out, he could feel the hefty ghost's annoyance. "I told you that it was just going to get worse."

"What was I supposed to do!?" Kaleb shouts, a few people in the halls looking at him oddly. "I'm on my final semester, I can't get kicked out now." He said more quietly, trying to be more aware of his surroundings.

Katie's sigh was felt. "Whatever, guess you just need to study constantly. Good luck on hitting those grades again."

"Wait, no. Please, I need your help. I can't get kicked out, it's so close to being over." Kaleb pleaded, feeling the weight of the matter continuing to weigh him down.

"Anything?" Katie remarks, smacking her lips. The hints of annoyance being overwhelmed by the sudden hunger. "How about this Kaleb, I'll ace your test for you... But I pig out when I want whenever I want. Deal?"

Kaleb felt a sudden lump build up in his throat, along with the clear softness that Katie had already granted him. Then he looked down at his test. "Deal."
