Unbelievable...that crazy remote actually worked...! At least, the first part of what it said it could do was accurate--if you had it right, you were now holding the contained essence of your mother's identity, everything that made her who she was.

You hadn't read the instructions too thoroughly, but you could hazard a guess as to what that did--as weird as it was to think about. What would it mean to apply your mother's role to someone else, something else?
