You did a great job creating a horrific, chilling story. There's a lot of potential in a story like this, which capitalizes on a lot of people's worst fears.

It's unclear why Ben sees Jackson dead in his room, when there's no sign of Jean's mother or any indication that he died elsewhere. I would work on fleshing that out a bit and providing some additional context for this information (for example, whether it's real or imagined, and why on either count).

Overall, I think you're off to a good start with this piece. There's definitely room for improvement, but you have a solid foundation to work with. Nice job!
