| Somewhere Down The Road Something was lost down an old dusty road... |
| Greetings, Lou! I discovered this with the Random Read and Review button I love the thoughtful, reminiscent tone, revisiting your childhood hometown and finding it's no longer how it was when you grew up. The slow, steady pace of country life is a beautiful thing, allowing us to breathe and think clearly while being steeped in nature. Nowadays, everything is fast food and parking lots. Your prose sentences bookend the theme neatly, emphasizing the autobiographical nature if the poem. This is an oldie and a classic. The rhymes are subtle and unobtrusive, giving it a quiet structure that feels like free verse. It uses concrete visuals to paint the picture of a muddy dirt road rolling up and down the hills. Perhaps you should increase the font size for an easier and more emphatic reading experience; my favorite is Size 4 Verdana. You can add {size:4}{font:Verdana} to the opening of the text. A line count is always a good idea, in case you want to drop it off at a contest for a chance at a ribbon. Take care, thanks for sharing, and keep writing
