Defining an unexplainable emotion.

The most precious of moments
Clinging to an hour glass
The grains that come undone
Are moments that have passed
Defining the retreats
Behind the shadows where I've fled
In memories forgotten
Or simply never said

An intimidating notion
Motions thoughts of what to do
I've learned from my mistakes
Not mistakes made by you
I'll never get to find my way
By walking in your shoes
But I'm treating every second
Like it's precious as the truth

If this moment slips away and drowns me deep beneath its tide
Before I ever get to see the me I hide inside
I'm sure I'd never mind

Don't hold my
Memory against me
If it doesn't serve me well
So many empty entries
Stating more then I can tell
I've never really understood
The reason for the lines
But rules are made for breaking
Not meant to be defined
