This poem was inspired by a man I once met who had been homeless for many years. |
| The Transient Always trust the ragged man A transient lost in time The truth will always pass his lips Lies wont score the dime Competing for the prize of scraps discarded on the street He wont do drugs or pack a gun He just wants something to eat An army full of soldiers Gun-Ho to the core With rifles, bombs and weaponary To combat any war But sticks and stones can still break bones And the hunger never ends The daily fight for life For the forgotten ragged man He can never lose his spirit And you'll never break his will Make no mistake there is no master plan He lives for life The forgotten ragged man |
