It's All In My Head

My body is aching,
my legs feel like lead.
Why does everyone say,
the pain is all in my head?

There's too much baggage,
too much stress.
My whole life,
is one big mess.

I keep remembering,
mistakes from the past.
I try to forget,
but they keep coming back.

There's a paranoia,
deep within.
There's so much worry,
penetrating my skin.

Every breathe that I take,
is a stab in the face.
All this fear,
I can't escape.

My muscles are screaming,
as I lie alone in my bed.
So why does everyone say,
the pain is all in my head?
