Apathy

A poem about loss and hiding behind walls.

Loss of feeling
Lack of care
I sit and wonder
If I'm fair.

Should I go
Continue on
Let it all go
Without you.

Apathy reigns
Free in my mind
Pushing away
Those left here.

I don't want
To fear or think
To wonder more
About what is next.

For you I came
Free from my
Shields and walls
But I can't stay.

I lock myself
Inside, unmoving
Cloaked in apathy
I'll hide again.
