Ladies Never Cry

Dignity above all else

The world around her begins to blur
As her gentle eyes fill with tears.
Her chin quivers as her hands grasp the air -
He has created a reality of her unspoken fears.

She turns her head from side to side
To avoid seeing the emptiness within his eyes,
As he breaks her heart speaking with only a sigh,
She clings to the belief that "Ladies should never cry."

This broken heart was hardly her first,
But it seems to be, by far, the worst.
"You're not worth it." is her whispered good-bye....
For she is a lady and ladies should never cry.
