This was dedicated to an old friend years ago.

I'm sorry I bit your head off

I truely, truely am

I needed someone to talk to

And you were the closest friend

Sometimes I wish you weren't

The good listener you seem to be

Then I wouldn't come to need your company

I know you're not always available

But lately you've always been there

And I came to depend

On having your ears to give me a helping hand.

You seem to be good at giving advice

Having been in the same situations

I began to believe you understand

At least a little bit of me

If you weren't so open hearted

I would have hesitated picking up the phone

And wishing I didn't have to be alone.

So you see why I needed to apologize

Whether or not you didn't see

That I was in rotten mood

And needed your ear to lean on

You see because you're so open

I've become addicted to having you there for me.
