Love is raw

I woke up with sadness
for you weren’t in my arms
but I felt a wave of gladness
for you were safe within my heart
and finally it hit me
all the years I’ve been alive
and all the times I’ve said the words
and all the times I’ve lied
in order for you to love someone
your heart must beat pure and true
and the words I love you
can’t be said by me and you
for once I see the meaning
and I thank God for his Grace
for when I think of love
all I see is Jesus face
finally its all so clear
why I feel the way I do
why my face lights up
and my heart smiles
and why all I think about is you
I’ve often “loved” another
we all do it day by day
but the words aren’t ours to give
and I finally learned that today
so now I have a new word
one that’s so much more than love
the only way to truly be
is to share the Grace of God above!
