When you left, I died inside.

As I sink into the warm, bubbly water,
I coddle memories of you;
memories of you at the other end of the tub,
leaning your head back into the corner,
a small smile playing on your lips;
memories of you, the one I will always love;
our legs smoothly rubbing together,
our positions shifting in sync.

BREAKING BUBBLES

I hear a million bubbles crashing around me,
perhaps symbolic of the dying love in your heart.
I close my eyes and hear nothing else-
not a barking dog, nor a baby's cry, nor a whisper of the wind-
just the sound of breaking bubbles.
I reminisce about the day you broke up with me-
and subsequently broke my heart.
I may as well have died that day.
My spirit has dwindled into a pit of despair.
The valiant knight I always dreamt of having
was once mine, but now is gone forever.
I see no light; feel no enlightenment.
Shadows of your memory dance
upon the candlelit walls.
The bubbles have all been broken.
Silence ensues, and my passion
ebbs into tepid waters.
