A poem I wrote from my soul |
The thunderous sound beckons me As I come upon a mighty flow of water. Struck silent by the awesome power That carves its way through relentless rock. Water crashes to the rocks below, Covering me in a spray of glistening diamonds. The potent spirit of the gushing cascade Pulls at some thirsty portion of my soul, Offering cleansing and refreshment, To a weary traveler far from home. I run into the fury of the water Welcoming its purifying streams As they surge over my tired body. Tears of joy join with rivulets of water Streaming down my tranquil face As I watch years of pain and sorrow Swirling further and further away. I step from the crystal water Feeling renewed and transformed. The roaring fades slowly away As I continue along a narrow path Yet the resonant rushing of the waterfall Still echoes in the beat of my heart. |
