One published work of poetry working on a second. Would love your opinions. |
"Winter Roots" Wicked painful, black roots sing stony groping, towards unseen springs. Wind still whipping at your back this shapeless figure's relentless attack. As deeper, deeper you must drive just to keep yourself alive. All your clothes have now been shed shamed, alone, you bow your head. Boughs bend low to hide the shame the trunk that bears the lovers name. Mind's eye dawning to the reason for this frigid, frozen season. Life's song calls yet from the depths begging you "Try to forget!" Strain and scratch, the wellsprings there! Wounded limbs will find repair. Life springs new with second chances children now play in your branches. Winter roots grown vast and long the meanest season made you strong. Also carried at Barnes and Noble and fine bookstores everywhere. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
