Chocolate Cake for Breakfast

Some mornings when I get up,
I'm in for such a treat,
Chocolate cake for breakfast!
My favorite thing to eat!

First Mom frowns and shakes her head,
And then I see her wink;
She ate cake for breakfast
And the crumbs are in the sink!

Dad sits down at the table;
He's as stern as Caesar's ghost.
Then he smiles- it's chocolate cake!
The breakfast he likes most.

It's chocolate cake for breakfast;
Chocolate frosting on my nose.
When it's chocolate cake for breakfast,
I feel good down to my toes!
